1998 Excelsior Award Recipient

Rosie Watson was honored in 1998 by the Marshall-Horton Family for Community Mindedness and Outstanding Missionary Efforts. Her anonymous nominator submitted the following powerful words that will forever outline her beautiful legacy:

Rosie’s Outstanding Missionary efforts and her Community Mindedness makes her my idol. As she goes out on speaking engagements or on home visits, she is always very inspiring and fills the spirit with so much joy. Rosie is a wonderful source of information and knowledge which makes her an excellent teacher of our “Lord’s” word. Rosie is well read, stays breast of the new interpretations of the scripture, gaining knowledge on how to read the word, gaining understanding when you read, and how to implement the scripture to live by and make workable in your life. Rosie carries a bible study class with her vast knowledge and wealth of information to the layman with simple and thorough understanding. Her communication skills are clear, precise, always interesting and almost lyrical to the ear. She is so wonderful to listen to and so easy to learn from. “

For decades, Rosie Watson has shared her astounding relationship with God by way of teaching and preaching in various venues. She makes it a point to minister to others based on her personal testimony and life experiences. Her tenacity is unwavering and her reach is far. The Marshall-Horton Family is so very grateful to have benefited from her strong and fearless spirit over the years. We continue to honor Rosie Watson and the legacy she has established as she allows God to use her.
